Taking riflery at Cub Creek Science Camps gives campers a basic introduction to firearm safety and the chance to build their skills. Campers will shoot 22 caliber rifles from the comfort and safety of our covered rifle range. Riflery is offered as both a week long summer camp course or a two-hour camp class.
Riflery is just one of over 30 courses offered at Cub Creek Science Camp. Every week you are at camp, you will choose two camp courses. Each summer camp course is made up of five classes.
These classes are part of the RIFLERY course:
A rifle is a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder, with a barrel that has a helical groove or pattern of grooves ("rifling") cut into the barrel walls. Mastering the ability to accurately shoot a rifle is no easy task, but through careful instruction and practice, riflery can be a safe and rewarding activity.
