A plane crash leaves you lost in the woods. How will you survive? In the Cub Creek Science Camp Survival Skills Course, you will learn to prioritize your needs including food, water, and shelter. You will learn how to make a fire, build a shelter, find, and cook your wild cuisine, cross rough terrain and become self-reliant in the wild.

Survival Skills is just one of 34 courses offered at Cub Creek Science and Animal Camp.

For every week you are at camp, you will choose two camp courses. Each summer camp course is made up of five classes.

Classes that make up this week long SURVIVAL SKILLS summer camp course:

  • Fire Starting
  • Shelter Building / Knot Tying
  • Searching for Food and Water
  • Orienteering and Signaling
  • Outdoor Cooking

Survival Skills are as old as man. From the beginning of time man has learned to survive in harsh situations and adapt to the environment around him. We take for granted many of the modern inventions that make life easy for us today, but all it takes is a catastrophic disaster and we are reduced to living as our forefathers did. Those with trained survival skills will best be able to adapt and survive in this type of environment.
