Animal Safari

[smartslider3 slider=9]

Animal Safari combines hiking with Field Biology – Campers will explore the different parts of the Ranch and search for local wildlife including snakes, lizards, frogs, salamanders, deer, raccoon, fox and more. Live traps are set and checked each day. Campers can bring along a camera or sketchbook / journal to record their findings! To make it even more fun, we bring along a pack llama to carry our equipment and field guides.

Animal Safari is just one of more than 30 courses offered at Cub Creek Science and Animal Camp.

For every week you are at camp, you will choose two camp courses. Each summer camp course is made up of five classes.

These are the classes for the week-long Animal Safari course.

  • Tracks, scat and other signs
  • Hiking with a purpose
  • Below the surface
  • Invertebrate collection techniques

Early in our American history we had a great expedition that set out to explore and record the geography, the people, the wildlife and the plant life of the great west. Louis and Clark recorded many new species of animals and plants that were currently unknown and greatly increased our knowledge of the great continent on which we live.
