Facility at Bear River Ranch
Bear River Ranch is a 240-acre modern camp facility nestled in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks, just 9 miles north of Rolla, Missouri. The facility was once home to WoHeLo Woods Camp and was run by the Camp Fire Girls. In 1999 Scott and Lori Martin purchased the facility, which appeared to have been abandoned nearly 15 years earlier. Construction and renovations began almost immediately as days off and weekends were consumed by turning this facility into a modern, comfortable, barrier free escape for nature and animal lovers from around the world.
The facility is now home to Cub Creek Science Camp and Animal Camp and the home base for the camp in Jamaica called Animal Camp Jamacia. The ranch has risen to the ranks of one of the best summer camps in the world and offers children an experience of a lifetime. It is the only animal camp in the world with its own zoo where children can see, help care for, and learn about the different species that call Cub Creek Science and Animal Camp home.
Scott and Lori with their two daughters (Mikayla and Jamie) live and work full time at Bear River Ranch. Nearly everything at the Ranch is either new or newly renovated and is fully ADA compliant.
